3. About MHT-CET Engineering Examination:
The entrance examination for the selection to all Engineering degree courses in state of Maharashtra for the academic year shall be conducted by the competent Authority appointed by Government of Maharashtra. The entrance -examination shall be conducted for the seat at all Government /Municipal corporation and Government aided institutions.

4. Date of Form and Place of Purchase:
The single Application form and three information Brochures for MHT-CET (Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy) will be available at Junior College/High school where student has given his/her requisition.

Prescribed application forms as per the requirement shall be obtained by Head Master/ Principal of the college where candidate is studying. The cost of Application form long with the Information Brochures of MHT-CET and the Examination Fee for open category and for reserve category .Duly filled application form should be submitted by the candidate to the same Junior College/ School on or before prescribed date.

Submission Date: March End
Exam Date: First week of May

Subjects for MH-CET (200 Marks)
Physics & Chemistry 50 marks each and
Mathematics 100 marks

7. Syllabus:
Syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for the MHT-CET will be the same as for the current year for HSC Examination of HSC Boards of Maharashtra State.

8. Examination Centers:
The MHT - CET will be conducted at all the district head quarters of the State of Maharashtra. The MHT-CET examination center will be within the same district from where the candidate has passed/ is appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination.

9. Eligibility:
Passed the SSC (Std. X) & HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharastra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects.

10. Age Limit:
The candidate must be an Indian National, born on before 1st January1991 to be eligible to appear for MHT-CET. Refer MHT-CET Information broacher for details.

Duration: one and half hours for each paper

A candidate belonging to open Category must have obtained not less than 50% (i.e. 150 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC Examination. A candidate belonging to backward class must have obtained not less than 40 % (i.e. 120 out of 300) marks in physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.

10. Age Limit:

About MHT-CET

Govt. of Maharashtra has decided to conduct a single Combined Common Entrance Exam for selection to all degree courses in Engineering ,Medical, Medicine, MBA, MCA, UPSC, IAS, IFS, CDS, NDA , SSB, Law, UPSC,Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, BVSc.& AH cources ,under Govt./ Corporation /Govt. Aided Colleges and Govt. Quota in Private colleges. The Entrance Exam will be held at all the district headquarters in Maharashtra. The entrance test is called Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET).

The Competent Authority for selection to Health Science degree courses is The Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai. The Competent Authority for selection to Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses is The Director, Technical Education, Mumbai. The Concerned Authority for selection to BVSc & AH degree course is The Registrar, Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University, Nagpur.

The qualifying Examination for appearing in MHT-CET is HSC (12th Std.) or equivalent examination with the conditions for eligibility as defined in the respective Brochure/s. Eligible candidates studying in Std 12th or equivalent from School/ Junior College situated in the State of Maharashtra are requested to give their requirement of Application Form and Brochures to their college/school.


The application form for MHT-CET is common for all the above said courses, however the information brochures are separate, one for Health Science Courses including Nursing and BVSc.& AH, another for Engineering courses and the third for Pharmacy. The result will be available at the official website of Directorate of Medical Education and Research and the Directorate of Technical Education. The selection to various courses will be done as per the rules stated in the respective information brochures.
